Chasing Brooklyn - Lisa Schroeder
Restless souls and empty hearts.
Brooklyn can't sleep. Her boyfriend, Lucca, died only a year ago, and now her friend Gabe has just died of an overdose. Every time she closes her eyes, Gabe's ghost is there waiting for her. She has no idea what he wants or why it isn't Lucca visiting her dreams.
Nico can't stop. He's always running, trying to escape the pain of losing his brother, Lucca. But when Lucca's ghost begins leaving messages, telling Nico to help Brooklyn, emotions come crashing to the surface.
As the nightmares escalate and the messages become relentless, Nico reaches out to Brooklyn. But neither of them can admit that they're being haunted. Until they learn to let each other in, not one soul will be able to rest.

I love Lisa Schroeder's style of writing. She writes in verse, which I just love, but it's just the way she writes... there's something about it that just sets it apart from other verse authors that I've read, such as Ellen Hopkins. I love how she mixes romance, real-life, and a little paranormal.
Chasing Brooklyn was a wonderful addition to Schroeder's releases. I devoured this book in a day, because I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what was happening with Brooklyn, and if Nico would ever be able to help her. And after he started to help her, if she would even let him.
Chasing Booklyn is told in alternating views between Nico and Brooklyn. Both Nico and Brooklyn have a distinct voice. Schroeder does a wonderful job of separating the two characters and keeping their voices different from each other. When I was reading this book, I felt like each of the characters had their own voice in my head whenever one of their chapters came up.
One other thing I loved about Chasing Brooklyn was that it's kind of tied into I Heart You, You Haunt Me a little. You find a mention of Ava in the pages of Schroeder's latest novel, which I found really cool.
I definitely recommend this book to you. All of Schroeder's books are amazing and I can't wait to read more novels by her.

I can't wait to read this either - my copy is on the way. It sounds amazing. I really enjoyed IHYYHM, so I hope I like this one just as much :)
I love books in verse and didn't know that was Schroeder's style. This one sounds really cool.
Awesome review. I think I will have to add this one to my list..
