Author Guest Blog: Danielle Joseph

Today we have Danielle Joseph who is the author of Shrinking Violet, her debut release, in May of this year! Here she is telling us what she wished she knew when she was a teenager.

---

When I was a teenager I wished I knew that there REALLY was a whole world out there waiting for me to dive in. I grew up in a snapshot of suburbia and although it was a great town to be raised in, it was also very limiting. I had a good group of friends but we were considered a bit different. We were slightly goofy and didn't fit into the popular crowd. I was really excited to start college and spent my senior year waiting to get out of town!

I would've also liked reassurance that it's okay to be myself and everything else will follow. I do believe now that if you are a positive person, you are that more radiant. The last thing I could've used was a strong backbone to tell people to piss off when needed:)! So my advice for teens is just be yourself, love life and embrace all things positive! Sounds a bit corny but it's true:)!

Happy birthday, Hope!
xo,
Danielle

Great guest post! Just being yourself is good advice. If people don't like you for you, then they're not worth your time. And I agree that there are some people who do need to be told to piss off.
