Vampire Kisses - Ellen Schreiber

Summary:

The mansion on top of Benson Hill has been empty and boarded up for years. But a new family has moved in. A family that never ventures out during the day. Who are these creepy people –– especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town gossip actually be true? Are they vampires?

Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander's loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth.

Review:

I'm going to start by saying that I was disappointed in this book big-time. I had heard that it was a quick read, but I was thinking maybe it would be a high-quality quick read, and I didn't find that. Honestly, I was kind of disappointed in it. The back of the cover makes it sound very interesting, but when I was reading it, it really wasn't. It was pretty predictable and the plot, in my opinion, could've used some work. Another thing that annoyed me was the use of so many exclamation points. It kind of felt like almost every other thing was being exclaimed and that really got on my nerves after about the first fifty pages.

However, the author did a good job with making the characters personalities. The personalities were pretty much there from the beginning to pick up on, and they pretty much stayed consistent through the whole book. Another thing the author did good with was the CLIFFHANGER ENDING. I wasn't planning on reading the second book in the series, but after the cliffhanger ending, I HAD to get it to find out what would happen.

Overall, I didn't find Vampire Kisses to be a very prime book. It was predictable and could've used a lot less exclamation points. There are many better vampire series' out there to read.

Two hearts.

hope.
