Evermore - Alyson Noel

Summary:

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

Review:

I thought this was a wonderful book! I thought the twist on fantasy in this book was really original -- I've never even heard about some of this stuff being in a book before, and it was nice how Alyson tied it all together. The character's were written really well, and to be honest, besides Ever and Damen, I think my favorite character was Miles, Ever's friend. He was just really funny, and always found myself laughing when he was saying something. (:

If I could change one thing about Evermore, it would be to maybe explain more and a little more clearly. When you're reading, you don't get anything, or why anything is happening, and then you get to a certain part where all of it is explained. However, this explaining part, to me, seemed really fast and confusing. I think I would've been able to follow the idea a lot more if it had been explained at a slower pace.

However, I still look forward to reading Blue Moon, the sequel to Evermore.

4 Hearts!

Also, to people who've read this book: What do you think of this review that was posted on amazon? I kind of skimmed it because I don't have time to read the whole thing, but I thought what she was saying about this relating to Twilight was interesting. What do you think of that theory?

hope.

Wow what a review on Amazon! I too compared it to Twilight but that always makes me hate the book. I didn't love Evermore. I actually didn't like it very much. It was just okay in my book. I probably will not read the sequel, like I stated in my own review.
