The Dead Girl's Dance (Morganville Vampires #2) - Rachel Caine

Summary:

Claire has her share of challenges. Like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains; homicidal girls in her dorm, and finding out that her college town is overrun with the living dead. On the up side, she has a new boyfriend with a vampire-hunting dad. But when a local fraternity throws the Dead Girls' Dance, hell is really going to break loose.

Review:

Right when I finished the first book in this series, Glass Houses, I knew that I would have to get my hands on the second one. And so I put The Dead Girl's Dance on hold from the library. When I got it, I was so excited, and finished it right after I finished whatever i was reading at the time. This book was a wonderful sequel, and now I cannot wait to read the third book!

The characters were their same old selves, thought you did learn a lot more about some of them than you did in the first novel. That was really nice because it let you know why the acted the way they did in certain situations.

The one thing that I really don't like about this series is the romantic relationships. While there seems to be something going between Eve and Michael that seems like it can be explained, I just... can't see Claire and Shane as a couple. I had an issue with this in the first novel, too. There just doesn't seem to be anything there for them to even be able to build on. But, oh well. They're cute anyways. :p

Four Hearts. (:

hope.

Great review! I love the Morganville Vampires, they're awesome! I kind of get what you mean about Shane and Claire, but I think they're great together. I can't remember exactly what happens in this book, so perhaps things get better/more understandable as books go on. :)
