Anatomy of a Boyfriend - Daria Snadowsky

. . . if only he came
with instructions.

Summary (from jacket flap):

Before all this happened, the closest I'd ever come to getting physical with a guy was playing the board game Operation. Okay, so maybe that sounds pathetic, but it's not like there were any guys at my high school who I cared to share more than three words with, let alone my body.

Then I met Wes, a track-star senior from across town. Maybe it was his soulful blue eyes, or maybe my hormones just started raging. Either way, I was hooked. And after a while, he was too. I couldn't believe how intense my feelings became, or the fact that I was seeing - and touching - parts of the body I'd only read about in my Gray's Anatomy textbook. you could say Wes and I experienced a lot of firsts together that spring. It was scary. It was fun. It was love.

And then came the fall.

Summary:

I liked this book a lot. Daria wasn't afraid of what people were going to say about her book - she wrote anyway. I've heard this book related to Judy Blume's Forever, which I haven't read, but from what I've read, they are similar, this is just a more modern version of it.

The writing was really nice. It wasn't forced, and it wasn't paced slow. It kept me wanting to read it at all times until I finished; it seemed to never have a lull moment.

The characters were written nicely, and you can tell by the end that the main character did grow, she didn't keep the same personality or the same outlook on life, she changed, and I really liked the character growth.

I really don't want to say anymore, because I'm afraid that I'm going to give out spoilers, but I really did enjoy this one.

Come back on Wednesday for an interview with Daria!

hope.

I love this book. There were those few parts that got a little sexual that were shocking but I am kinda glad she put those in there. It makes the book even more realistic, and it wasn't written in a 'dirty' way. She wrote it really nicely and it was a great read.

Judy Blumes "Forever" is kinda similar to the book. They were both really good, well written and the sexual parts of the books were written very classy and not trashy.

I really hope Daria writes another one!
