Gossip Girl: The Carlyles - Cecily von Zeiglier

Good-bye Nate, Serena, and Blair. A new group of juniors have moved into New York City's Upper East Side as the others are off to college. And Gossip Girl is there to document their every move.

Avery, Baby, and Owen Carlyle have just moved to New York City from Nantucket because their Grandmother Avery just passed away. Coming with them, they bring a heck of a lot of drama, however. Avery wants to become Student Liason to the Board of Overseers - against Jack Laurent, of all people, who basically gets whatever she wants. Baby leaves her boyfriend Tom and hates New York until she meets and starts walking T.J. Cahsmen's dogs - and T.J. just happens to be Jack's boyfriend. And Owen comes to find that the girl he was hopelessly in love with just happens to be his new best friend's girlfriend.

I have read the Gossip Girl series from the beginning. It's not my favorite series by a long shot - I just read them after reading something serious, usually, because they are easy reads and they don't involve too much thinking. There isn't too much to say about it besides the fact that it was the basic Gossip Girl book. It followed the upper class in the Upper East side of New York - the students that go to Constance Billboard, St. Jude's, etc. If you have read the other books, you will enjoy this one, too, because it's written in the same way as the regular series. If you haven't read the original series, but want to pick this one up, you won't be lost. There are only a few mentions of other characters and they are minor - it won't mess up the story for you.

hope.
